A post about ‘Faking it Until You Make It’ got me thinking. What is Fake and what is a Real? What happens when you ‘fake’ confidence? My first time in front of 400 people was a record for poorest performance by a podcaster in 2001. The record I am proud to say is still mine 17 years later. 😆 The next day, I watched my fellow instructor give the same day long training. My thoughts during the day was: “The only difference between him and me is he’s up there confident as can be.” I can do that. He doesn’t know more about the topic than I do (wasn’t about podcasting). The third day I was in front of 450 people. On a break, my fellow instructor came into the room and watched. Afterwards he told me a lot of positive things about what he saw. I never looked back.
